Past 2 days: Yesterday was monday, which always goes by fast because we are away from out kids for the weekend and we miss them.. M-man had a great day yesterday. One of the best yet. He was laughing so much. M-son was also belly laughing. It makes me cry when i see them have that joy. (in a good way). M-son is being really stubborn when it comes to us working on him walking. We have this walker thing that helps the kids learn to walk and even when i put him in that he lifts up his feet so they wont touch the ground and just sits there. He actually thinks he is really funny doing it. But its frustrating sometimes because i feel like we have made no progress on walking. He just wants to be held, which i dont blame him, but somehow we gotta work on it!
Today was picture day for the parents of the kids. Each kids get their picture taken so they can send an update to their soon to be families. It was really fun, except i was trying to help kim out, so i grabbed one of her kids for her, and i already had another kid in one arm so i did not check his diaper.. i swung him onto my hip and i got poop everywhere. haha yep. but other than that it was fun and every single one of these kids are so so cute.
R girl had a hard day today. I went to get her out and she was balling in the nursery (not like her) and the whole time she just laid on me and did that breathing hickup thing u do after you cry. please be praying for her
Every night, and and a few of the girls here sit on our balcony in rocking chairs and drink hot tea. (we are going to be very good old people) Its one of my favorite parts of the day. The Lord has blessed me with the girls here.
Jamie leaves tomorrow, and i am sooo so sad about it. I know that there are amazing girls here, but you all know how i am with change.. i am totally bumbed but am excited for the new volunteers coming.
Anyways, thank yall again for your prayers. They are sooo needed. I can't believe i have been here for 3 weeks.. I wont lie the rice is tasting a little old... but i am absolutley loving it, its a once in a lifetime chance and i could not be more greatful to be here.

Dear Becca: I am so excited to hear M-son and M-man are so happy. No surprise I know you are bringing much happiness in their lives. That has to be such a good feeling for you -a great reward - "you can't buy love and you can't buy happiness"!!! All the love you have so freely shown them during your stay at GLA is evident looking at their happy faces.
ReplyDeleteR girl probably was bawling because it had seemed too long since she had seen you. Babies feel love and crave it just as all people young or old. Don't you remember when Drew was a baby how he would sob until his Mom returned from a trip? Love is a beautiful thing. I will keep R girl in my prayers and hopefully when you get her tomorrow she will have a big smile on her face.
I bet it is fun dressing the babies up for their photos for their new parents. What a need preparation for these babies lives. I am very impressed with the way GLA is managed. You can certainly tell they take great pride.
I had lunch with Aunt Carolyn and Aunt Kathy today. Your ears probably burned all afternoon. All they could talk about was you and what a great job you are doing. We had a great visit. Aunt Carolyn loved Alaska. She said she could wait to get home to check your blog. LOL
I am sorry Jamie is leaving. I have noticed you mention her often. The friendships you have made in Haiti will be a lifetime bond. You girls are so young and you have a life time to let your relationship mature and enjoy each other while you continue your service and mission work.
I guess you don't want a rice casserole when you get home????? LOL
Aunt Jennifer got great news today. Her blood level remained the same. That is what we have been praying for "either remain the same or go down". Not to worry, she is fine they are watching this because of her and Uncle Bo's blood type. She has done this every pregnacy her doctor just stays on top of everything which is very good. Then she called this afternoon and said Faith has mouth and foot disease. It is viral infection nothing you can really do about it you just have to ride it out. THey are leaving for Utah to join your parents on Thursday. The boys are so excited. Should be great fun for them all.
Boo your genuine faith is obvious by the way you are using your entrusted gifts for eternal purposes. There is a special blessing for those who not only agree that humble service is Christ's way but who also follow through and do it. You are a very special young lady we love you and miss you so much, Pana
