another amazing weekend in haiti!

This weekend has been awesome. I LOVEE it here in Haiti. Yesterday, since it was our day off, we went to this place called the Look Out. It was BEAUTIFUL. The view as of Port Au Prince and the ocean. The ocean here is absolutley beautiful. Port Au Prince is so big and its crazy to look at from a distance. It is so poor but seeing it from far away gives you a different look at it. Its beautiful. We shopped at the Look Out and i bought some cool paintings (i got better at bargaining). The paintings are so cool and shopping on the streets is an experience! We then went to a place called the Baptist Mission. We got lunch, and then shopped some more on the streets. Me and kim said we were only going to buy ONE more thing (we were finding something specific for brittani :) ) and then all the sudden we looked at each other, and what was going on and there were 8 people putting stuff in our faces telling us to come to their shop or to buy this and that and it was so chaotic. It was SO funny. we just looked at each other and through the yelling and pulling we just started laughing so hard. Then we would say NO NO NO!! and they would go SO low on the prices, that we ended buying kinda a lot but they were such good deals!! haha it was sooo funny, we have some funny stories. After the Baptist Mission we went to a grocery store, then the coolest part was we got to go to a open air market. It was SOOOO cool. Its just so cool learning about the culture here. I bought some limes, (yes mom i will bleach them before i use them:) ) and it was just so different and cool. We then went back to the house, got some dinner and then i got to hang out with Tutu for a little bit. She had a fever and was not her self so please pray she feels better. It broke my heart and i hated putting her back in the nursery but pray she gets better.

This morning we had church, which was really good. The worship was espicially good :) after lunch we went on an amazing hike again to the waterfall. It literally takes my breath away every time. Its SO beautiful here!!

Anyways, i am ready for tomorrow because being away from my kids makes me miss them so much! how am i going to leave.. ha well I love yall and keep tutu in your prayers!!

God is so good!!

  1. Dear Boo: I think it is such a blessing that you have enjoyed working with these babies and being totally devoted to each of them. This will be a very tough time to leave them especially the bond you each have made with each baby. This is when you really have to put your total faith in Jesus Christ. You have done the job you set out to do and you know your babies are all going to good homes. This should make you very happy. When you complete you work that you are called to do then you must prepare yourself for your next calling. It probably won't make it any easier except now you know each of your babies will carry your teaching of loving one another with them for the rest of their lives "thanks to you BECCA FEAGIN". Through this love you have showered your babies with will stay with them for the rest of their lives when your babies mature they will understand what Psalms 121:7-8 says: "The Lord will keep you from all harm-he will watch over your life. The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore". You have gained and witnessed true humility working with these babies and always remember "with humility comes wisdom". When you leave Haiti I am sure God will be looking down upon you saying "Well done, good and faithful servant!come share your Master's happiness!."(Matthew 25:21, 23)
So remember, God can use you in a way he can use no one else. Let him know your willingness to follow him. God has given each of us a purpose for living and we can trust him to guide us. When you are content to do what God wants you to do and let Jesus Christ be honred for it, God will do great things through you.
Only God knows what the future holds. We should submit and always allow God to deal with problems as he sees best.
The sad thing about our society they look for excitment and entertainment everywhere except to God. People think God as dull and lifeless. However if they really researched his word they would find he brings more love, laughter, excitment, truth, hope, faithfulness, righteouness and eternal life. He offers more than anyone can imagine he is the one and only true God.
God love endures forever and we all need to give thanks to God for everything.
Proverbs 3:5-9 (Another scripture we should all live by)
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all ways acknowlege him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Honor the Lord with your wealth with the firstfruits of all your crops"
Tutu, all your babies and you are in our prayers.
We love you so much and we are so proud of you, Pana

  2. Dear Becca,

This week, my prayer has been to help you prepare to depart. Have been very worried about how hard this will be on you until I read Pana's note. She hit the nail on the head in preparing you to leave. You have touched these precious babies lives & helped prepare them for their new homes. What a blessing for each family. It is all about God's purpose & not our's. He will lead us & use us to his purpose & his alone.

God Bless You & Keep You Each & Every Day!! Love, Aunt Carolyn
